Hinterland Insurance Names Evan Krozy Chief Underwriting Officer

Hinterland Insurance, an independent insurance MGA and program administrator specializing in tough to place risks, appointed Evan Krozy as Chief Underwriting Officer, effective February 2, 2026.

The appointment came at a pivotal moment for Hinterland as the company expands its portfolio of programs and product offerings. Founded in 2019 as a commercial property and difference in conditions (DIC) program administrator, Hinterland has grown substantially, expanded its capacity, and now offers monoline and package options, including excess and surplus lines coverage.

"We are focused on thoughtful and profitable growth, high-quality service and consistent execution to bring more value to our wholesaler partners," said Hinterland CEO Lee Glaser. "Evan's strategic specialty lines underwriting experience will be invaluable in the execution of our strategy."

As Chief Underwriting Officer, Krozy brings more than 25 years of insurance experience to Hinterland, including commercial lines underwriting, specialty lines, programs, portfolio management, product development, compliance, and operations. Most recently, he served as Chief Operations Officer at Frederick Mutual Insurance Company. His previous roles include Deputy Chief Underwriting Officer at Ascot Group and Chief Underwriting Officer for specialty property at The Hanover Insurance Group.

"Hinterland is building something truly unique. The company has achieved impressive growth with its specialist approach, high-touch service and proprietary technology. All of this allows them to move quickly and decisively. I am looking forward to working with this talented team to help the company achieve its growth objectives," said Krozy.
